Emfuleni warns the public of incentive scam

Emfuleni Local Municipality is warning all category of property owners within the Emfuleni Local Municipalities area of this bogus incentive scheme that is doing its rounds via Facebook, email, internet and other electronic media.

This bogus incentive scheme offers the following to the customers: 

(a) 10% discount on current account paid in full by the third of the month.

(b) Arrears of shorter than 90 days, waive interest plus 10% of the capital amount.

(c)  90 and 180 days waive interest plus 50%

(d) Older than 180 days waive interest plus 50%

NB. The incentives are applicable from 16 January 2017 until March 2017

PLEASE NOTE that Emfuleni Local Municipality has at no stage approved such incentive schemes and is currently investigating the origin of the bogus information.

PLEASE NOTE that the following information is being sent around via e-mail and is a scam that aims to collect as many R7510.00 payments as possible. This is a scam, do not respond to this e-mail! Below is the actual content of the e-mail.
